Game ? vs. Blue Wave A

It was about the most fun game our team has had. We had a late game last night and as we were waiting for the current game to end, it started to sprinkle on us. The rain has just been overwhelming lately. But luckily it did not pour. The sprinkle didn't stay long though. We were able to start our game and we really only needed 2 inning to finish the game. The 1st inning went by rather quick. We emptied our entire lineup and scored 5 runs. The 2nd inning was an inning for the record books really. It was a long long inning for the opposing team. We emptied the entire lineup twice...scored like 20 runs. We almost emptied it 3 times, but got halfway through the lineup and ended up getting that eluded 3rd out. During this 2nd inning...we had back-to-back homers thanks to Scott and Josh. We completely clobbered our component. I think final score was 25-5.
My performance was not so bad. I was 2 for 3. Even with the out...I felt good at bat cuz the entire team did not have any bad outs. All our outs were on some strong hits. It just happened to be line drives and was caught by the opposing team. It was not due to popups...those are worse. My out was on a line drive right to the pitcher. He got lucky though. He dropped his glove and the ball just happened to land in.
But the day was nice. Mary and Lily came out to watch me play. I'm glad I stepped up my game. I would never hear the end of it if I had a bad game. All Lily ever brought up when we were at dinner was hit that landed me and out and never even mentioned the hits I had out to center field. Funny how she just focuses on the negative. I guess that's to be expected of her. No surprise there really. Anyhow...the team definitely put on a show today. One word to summarize the game....Incredible!

My 28th Birthday

Ah...July! The crazy month for birthdays. Seems that many ppls b-days fall during July. I celebrated mine just yesterday. It was definitely one for the memory book.
It started with a trip out to a lake in the Cinco Ranch area where my friend lives. We went kayaking and boat rolling. It was definitely something new that many of us have never done. Our friend Allison was a huge kayaker. She brought out two of her own kayaks and we borrowed one from the club. It was fun, but I would have enjoyed it more if I hadn't done upper body workout that morning. Kayaking is all upper body. I got tired pretty quickly. Illenny and I switched up and I took over for her on the roll boat. That was much more relaxing. The park was really nice. They even had a pool that simulated a beach. There was sand and even a wave pool. Unfortunately they did not have the waves on. Eva and I got into the pool...that was fun. After this we went back home to Carlos' and showered and got ready for a very late lunch/early dinner. We headed to the Rainforest Cafe inside the Katy Mills Mall. For Allison and I, it was our first time there. It was quite an experience in itself. Food was not that great, but service definitely was. Our waitress Amanda was about the spunkiest girl I've met. She was way too happy. But better that than a boring waitress. No complaints here...just funny. Well, they pulled a fast one on me cuz they came out with one of those sparklers on a cake for me. They made me get up on my chair and dance with a salt and pepper in my hands as they sang happy birthday to me. Dang...I thought I was too old for that, but I guess I'll never be old enough for my friends to have a good laugh at me. So I even have to admit that I had fun with it...as embarrassing as it was. And yes...they have it on video.
After walking the mall to relieve ourselves from dinner, we headed back home and watched Capote. Many of us fell asleep but we all got up to catch enough of the movie to know what was going on. That is one messed up guy.
But that capped off my night. It was beyond excellent. I could not have thought up a better way to spend my birthday...and with a better group of ppl.

Game ? vs. Wild Turkeys

Yeah, I have no idea what week we are in any longer. The rain really has taken a toll on this season's tournament. At least I can still remember the team we played against. That's as good as it's gonna get. Besides for those that played in the All-Star game, our team hadn't seen any action for about a month now due to all the rainouts that we've had. It could have been a bad thing, but our team picked up right where we left off. We emptied the entire bench in the 1st inning. We were practically unchallenged today. As usual, the game ended after the 3rd inning due to the run rule. Since we kept them scoreless, the final score must have at least 15-0.
It was an incredible day for Scott and I. We both had homers...only that mine was an in-the-park homerun. Scott knocked one out of the park for a 2-run homer. Man...he knocked the crap out of that ball. The instant the ball came off his bat, we all knew it was gone...and sure enough...it was long gone. That happened in the 2nd inning. Later in that inning, I put one b/w center and right in the outfield and the ball took some nasty bounces out there that allowed me to run the entire diamond. I was a lil lucky coming home though. The throw made it home, but their catcher couldn't make the catch, so I got by just barely. That was awesome cuz Christina was ahead of me so it was another 2-run homer. Excellent! :)
I guess I never realize it before, but Scott was very impressed with my on-base percentage and made it a point to tell that to me. He was like..."man...you never seem to miss when you're at bat. I can't remember a time when you're not on base...". That was nice...but I'll never be able to knock one out of the park or make crazy catches the way he does. But it's all good...as long as the team is winning, I don't care what I do or don't do. But I think he's much more impressive at the plate than I will ever be. I'm just more of a consistant player.

So on to the second game of the day. Carlos' team were needed some players so I got a couple of my teammates to help out. This game was so exciting. We started off really well. The team was able to empty the bench in the 1st inning. So far so good, but the other team quickly came back. The scoring was pretty much even throughout the whole game. In the final inning, we were up by 3, but they were last to bat and scored 1 with 1 out. Well, that didn't last long cuz we pulled off a double play to end the game. The hit was to 3rd...the 3rd base guy tagged the runner out and immediately threw the ball to Amy at 1st to beat the tag...and it was over. Carlos' team finally got their first 1 of the season...well...in 2 seasons.
There were many funny events that took place during this game and unfortunately I was involved in all of them. First off...I was the last batter in the lineup and b/c we didn't have 2 girls on the team, we would received an out after I bat. Well, I came up to bat with 2 outs...so no matter what happens I would have to keep running the bases until they throw me out. Well...I remembered to do so, but when I rounded 2nd...I total forgot to keep going so after the play stopped we received our 3rd out. Everyone was laughing and kind of pissed at the same time cuz they were all yelling for me to keep going and I totally just forgot. Man...that was embarassing. I'm sure they were all thinking...what a dumbass. Well, whatever...it was funny though...we all had a good laugh out of it. Then on defense...a ball came to the outfield and b/c of the high grass...it got completely lost...and when I went to pick it up with my glove...it wouldn't come up so I had to go in with my bare hands to get it out. It was so funny cuz the other guy out there with me saw and was just laughing. But funniest of them all was when I was up to bat, I popped one down the right field sideline and it just fell outside the foul line so with the next pitch I aimed for the same spot, but when I went to swing, I completely missed the ball and struck out. Well, we had already 1 out...so with me striking out...that was 2 and cuz I was last at bat and no girl, we had to take our 3rd out. So I caused the team 2 outs in a row. Although that's not entirely my fault...everyone had to laugh about it. I admit though...it was very funny. I still can't believe I struck out. What a bummer :(
Well, nevertheless...we won the game so I was a happy camper. I had so much fun today. Great laughs especially and an in-the-park homer...can't be any better.

Alex and Riana

The funniest thing happened the other week when I went out with my parents for some Dim Sum. We ran into Alex...a girl who my mom babysat 10 years ago when she was just a newborn. And wow have she grown! I hadn't seen her in more than 6 years but when she walked into the restaraunt, I immediately knew who the girl was. She wasn't with her parents so it was not so obvious. She was with her friend and her friend's parents. Well...as we all were in the waiting area, they happened to sit down right beside us so I asked the lady if the girl's name is Alex. The lady replied yes and so we started to talk and how we knew her. It was so funny. Of course Alex doesn't remember any of us, but she didn't shy away from talking to us. I told her how we babysat her when she was just a tiny baby and all.
A week later...just this past Saturday...there was a birthday party for her half sister Riana who was turning 4. I was invited to the party, but couldn't attend cuz I had already committed to my former boss' Bastille Day party. But even still...I wanted to give lil Riana a birthday gift so I stopped by before heading to my boss' place to drop off the gifts. The gifts were really cute. I got for her a backpack of a Disney character (not sure what...but it was of a fairy) and it came with some butterfly wings. Cute...I know. It was adorable. I couldn't resist from buying it. Then I also bought this really cute Nike jacket for her too. But I didn't want to leave Alex out since I hadn't seen her in so long...I bought her a couple of shirts that I thought was pretty cute. She's 10 now...and she's getting pretty tall.
When I came over to the home to drop off the gifts, Alex and Riana peeked out the window to see who it was and when Alex saw me, it was like she knew exactly who I was...even though we had ran into each other just the week before. But still...it was like she knew me. She was all waving and smiling at me and then took off to get her stepmom to open the door. And of course lil Riana just stood there by the window going..."Who is that?". It was so funny. Riana was so cute though. As soon as she saw the huge bag of gifts...she quickly grabbed it from me and started to peek in...hahaha.
Well...I hope they both enjoyed the gifts. Hopefully I'll be invited back next year and be able to make it this time.

Transformers Movie

Sad...but Transformers was exactly how I expected for it to be. No plot, bad acting, and terrible all around. It did not live up to the hype at all. Not even close. It was an entertaining movie at the most. It's not a movie that I would want my money back on, but it was just disappointing cuz Transformers is what I grew up watching and had so much expectations for the movie, but from the trailers I could already tell it was not going to be that good of a movie.
And to make the movie worse, the movie was filled with corporate advertisements. Is that what movies have come to? Sad. It was so obvious too. Chevy had there name all over the screen. BumbleBee was not no Chevy. It was a Bettle. Nokia got in on the act as well. So did many other small businesses. It really made me dislike the movie even more. And Megan Fox is not that hot. Her body might be her best feature cuz her acting sux. But all the other actors sucked as well. It was like watching a bad B rated horror movie...
The movie was nothing memorable. It could have been 30 mins shorter as well. I remember trying to find the time 3 times during this movie. Shows how much I cared for it. I lost interest halfway through this movie. The only bright spot is the blond English girl. Love the accent.

Bastille Day Party

Yesterday I spent the day at my former boss' ranch to celebrate France's independence day. His annual Bastille Day party is an event where lots of ppl come to and where there's plenty of food, drinks, beers, and heat. He usually invites co-workers, neighbors from around the ranch and other friends of theirs. And of course friends and family are welcomed. I tried to get a couple of friends to come out, but they didn't really want to. o well...they missed out.
The day was a lil strange cuz it was raining all morning long here in Houston so I was worried cuz the rain was coming from the west...and his ranch is out near Sealy. Well, good thing that the rain hit them earlier in the day and so the party was still a go. The weather was not so bad. Yes it was hot and humid, but there was a nice breeze going so it wasn't as bad as the previous years.
The party was fun as usual. It never disappoints. I even tried playing soccer after all the guys dragged me into it. It was fun. I scored 2 goals so I was happy. I was a terrible goalkeeper though. Never let me do that again...hahaha. But one thing that is always a tradition is a good game of volleyball and I missed out this year. For whatever reason, I just wasn't in the mood to be active. I think the heat just got to me.
But I couldn't have been any worse than the two girls (whose name I won't mention)...but they sat on the bench all day long doing nothing but eating and talking. I must say...it was a lil disgusting watching them do nothing but eat all day long without ever getting up to move around. It really was like gluttony. It's no wonder why they have put on so much weight. And yet they complain about how out of shape they are. Geez...it's no wonder. If you get up off the bench once in a while and stop eating every minute...it might help. Gosh...I've never been so disgusted. I would get up to walk around and talk to other ppl and when I'd come back to the table, I would see a different plate of food on the table. I couldn't help but to think...what the heck happened to the plate of food that was here just 10 mins ago?...there's already another plate? Gosh...if you're going to eat this much, at least make an effort to work out and stay in shape. Again...I must say...the weight they have put on is unflattering. It's kind of all in the wrong place too. Ok...I'm sorry to sound so insensitive, but really...if you're going to do this...then you really should never bring up why you are putting on so much weight. I guess that's my main point to this. Don't bitch and complain about something if you know you are in the wrong and are making no efforts to better the situation.
Anyhow...besides from this...I still love girls who can eat, but I guess I better choose my words carefully cuz this one kind of came back to kick me in the ass. I should really say that I love girls who are not afraid to eat and when they do actually eat, not to eat excessively.
Well...it'll be another year before this happy event will take place. I hope I continue to be invited to this. I always have a good time out there. It's always like a big happy family. I always feel so at home with the ppl there. It's great.

Harry Potter 5 in 3D

Man...I had never been to a 3D showing before and so when I went to see Harry Potter 5 last night in 3D...like a dumbass...I wore my 3D glasses almost the entire movie. I noticed that many other ppl wore it from the beginning of the movie as well. Well, I learned that you're not suppose to. You're only suppose to put on the stupid glasses when the glasses appears on the screen. Man...I kept thinking to myself..."dang...these glasses makes the movie look too dark". I really did not want to wear them to begin with, but I wanted to experience the 3D. But it was awesome when it finally arrived...like towards the very end of the movie. There were some points where I had trouble focusing, but the parts where I was focused...it was very nice. I wish SpiderMan3 would have been in 3D. That would have been awesome.
Anyhow...the movie was surprisingly entertaining. I really enjoy it despite never having read any of the books nor seeing any of the previous movies.

2007 All-Star Game

Today was the 2nd annual All-Star game. Unfortunately I didn't get to represent my team this year, but I did come out to show support for my teammates who did get to represent. It was one hot ass hell afternoon. I was dripping in sweat just sitting there on the bleachers. That was ridiculous. I was sweating so much that sweat was falling in my eyes. That burned! My eyes are still burning now from that.
Anyhow...I'm so glad that Elodie showed up to hang out with me. She had brought her lil dog Luna with her. She (the dog) was so cute and so much fun. She was so hyper too. I think she was excited to see so many ppl around. She was running from one person to the next...hahaha. Elodie had gone to get some water so she left Luna with me for a while. I just felt bad that I constantly had to pull back on her leach just so she don't go hoping onto ppl.
But I think the story of today was the heat. My shirt was completely soaked...as if I was actually playing in the game. And Elodie...man...it looked like she was taking a shower. She was dripping in sweat. It was funny cuz I would see sweat roll from her face down to her chest. Yes...I couldn't help looking. She had on a very low cut shirt. And she's pretty decent up there.
Ok...moving on from that short and a lil perverted moment...the heat was just so extreme. O...and not to forget...but the food....awesome! Hot dogs, chips, cookies, and drinks. Can't beat that. I had a few dogs...and a couple of bag of chips...hehehe.
I'm not sure who won the game though. I left a lil early cuz I just got so exhausted from being in that heat. I even had to bust out with my umbrella to shade me...and that didn't help.

In Need of a Vacation

I'm so tired from work. I've been putting in crazy hours this past month that I'm completely exhausted. I fill like my brain is completely dead. I don't think I'm cut out to work so many hours. But at the same time, I can't let my project down. I don't have it in my personality to just not do it. My days have consisted of coming home after hours, having dinner, watch a lil tv, and then hoping onto my computer to do work. It really sucks cuz I said that I would never become the person that works so much that they neglect everything around them and sadly enough...I have turned into that person. But I hope this will not be an on going thing. I'll put up with it until this project is released and done with. Then hopefully I could get back to my old schedule of finding time to work out, play some basketball, and running. Right now, my only extra curricular activity is softball. If they take that away from me...I will explode. I really need my sports. That's like my only get-away from life. I guess I just appreciate it more now that my body hasn't seen sunlight for so long...hahaha. I'm just not for ppl working more than 40 hours per week. It's just not right. It's bad too cuz I love what I'm doing. I can't imagine if I was doing something I didn't love. How would I feel then? Geez...I would be even more miserable. There's a limit you know? That's just with everything though. Life needs to be balanced!

SCC MS150 2007 Group Pix

Here it is...finally! The team picture from this year's MS150 ride.

I can't believe the size of our team. Image that times 100+ other groups that participated. The sheer size of this event is purely amazing.
