2008 The Year In Review

2008 was kind of an odd year for me. I think I was confused more than half of the time. Good things happened...actually great things happened. But then the bad came along with it too.

I can't forget the memorable ending to 2007 still. My first trip ever out of the country and it was to Paris, France! Changed my life forever! Then the year ended on a horible note when a 16 yr old girl slammed into my car and totalling it.

From there, 2008 started off nicely when I purchased my very first car. It is such a thrill to drive!

The excitement of attempting the MS150 remained from last years event, but this year I cut back on my training and perhaps was the reason for my lack of effort and eventually downfall during this year's event. No. I think I will blame it on the 20mph head wind we got on day 1. Well, whatever the real reason was, I just felt that my body and mind was not in sync this year. I'm sure there's something wrong with my body but I just don't know what cuz I'm too stubborn to go see any doctors.

My normally active and athletic body disappointed me this year as my performance in softball and football suffered. There were days were I wasn't even excited to go out and play and would have rather gone home and sleep. One day I would feel great and the next day I would feel like a 300lb person trying to run. In softball, my batting was horible and my fielding was never dominate. In football, my legs didn't want to make the runs it usually would love to do. It couldn't make the cuts it loved doing either. It certainly couldn't get off the grounds to make a play on the ball. I was just out on the field to fill a position more than to compete and have fun. I felt miserable all season long.

I can't forget how busy I've been with work up to this point so that was definitely something holding me back.

Then July came. It was the craziest July I ever had. It stated off with a wonderful BBQ at Illenny's house for the 4th of July. Regina and Chris joined us for the celebration. We all had such a wonderful time with one another. That might have been Chris' last appearance as we hadn't seen him since. The following week I had two parties to attend on the same day. In the morning I attended Remi's annual Bastille Day Celebration. I didn't get to hang out with everyone as I had to come early and leave early just to make Alpa's Engagement Party back home later that afternoon. It was a fun day overall but I was so tired from having to travel all across town.

Somewhere in between this, all the girls came out of nowhere. I won't even go into details about this cuz it's all eventually a dead end.

Then I visited my friend in Tampa. We didn't do anything we shouldn't have but perhaps she did some things she shouldn't have. Nevertheless, I still had a good time being with her.

Then August came. Paris here I come once again. This time I'm bring the entire family. It was a great time. I'll never forget this moment. It just made me love my cousins even more. It's unbelievable to think that I could build a decades worth of love in a matter of days of knowing one another.

As soon as I returned home from vacation I was promoted at work. Ever since that day...I have done nothing but work. My escapes were dinners with Christine. Gosh, I'm so greatful for having her as a friend.

My relationship with Eli went sour. It's all good. Guess I'll leave it at that. I'm not sure I want to waste my time talking about her. She's just another girl that thinks she's hot and using what she's got to fill the void she's missing in life.

At years end I find myself getting ready for the departure of Carlos and myself. We still don't know officially where we'll be next year.
