The Greatest Underachievers

My softball team is about to be known as the greatest underachievers in the game. For the last 4 years since I joined the team, we have failed to bring home the trophy. First year we were eliminated in the first round. Year two we reached the final game and lost by 1 run. Last year the season was canceled due to rain-outs. For sure we thought this year was ours for the taking. Well...it wasn't. We just gave it up to another team. In fact...it will be going to a new team cuz ranked #1 and #2 were eliminated on the same day. What a shocking term of events. But maybe it was a good thing to have an underdog new champ for a change.
So this team of mine does a lot of barking during the regular season, but merely purrs during games that count. We tighten up and make bad decisions all day long. Mistakes after mistakes seems to be our thing. It is terrible to watch our team during these moments. We are the "Cowboys", "Rockets", "Texans", "Mavs" of softball right now. We put fear in our opponents all season long and then come the playoffs and we fail to do anything. We are the greatest underachievers!
