2008 Ft. Bend Education Expedition
Today I meet two very nice girls, Jackie and Racquel (pronounced like ra-kel). I think Jackie was her name. Didn't matter, I was more interested in Racquel. I thought she was pretty cute. Too bad Illenny was around otherwise I would have tried to get Racquel's number.
So let me back up for a minute. Today I participated in the Ft. Bend Education Expedition. It is a bike ride to raise money for a Ft. Bend District school. I don't know which school was this year's nominee, but I'm sure it needed the money cuz there was an area we went by that was pretty bad.
Well anyhow...we were heading out from our first rest stop when these two girls jumped in and rode along with us. They didn't have maps so they were insisting that they would follow me. Coo...no problem... I got all sorts of compliments from them as I was leading...hahaha. That was pretty funny...I was flattered but they didn't need to do that. I would have lead anyways. Well, we reached the stop sign and when I looked back, Illenny and Eva were no where in site. Being that we were coming out of a bad stretch of neighborhood, I wanted to stay to wait for them. I insisted that the girls take my map and continue so that they didn't have to wait. Who knows how long it will take the other girls to arrive??? At first they were willing to wait, not wanting to leave me back (probably cuz they liked following instead of having to find their way...hahaha), but I saw that they really wanted to continue so I pushed them even harder to take my map and continue. And so they did.
When we arrived at the finished, I ran into them eating lunch so I stopped by to say hello and to see how they did. We grabbed our lunch and decided to join them for lunch. It was nice. We all got to talk to each other. They both worked at Amergy Bank and from what we know, Racquel lives near the Sugarland area. Man...I hope I run into her again. Carlos teased me to chase after her as she was leaving to get her number. It's just not in my nature to talk to another girl when I'm in the presence of other girls that I'm close with. Being that Illenny and Eva were there...I really didn't want to do that out of respect to them. O well...opportunity lost.
The infamous Rest Stop #6:
They were by far the most hype group of high schoolers. They were cheering so loudly as we were arriving. There was this really nice looking blond curly haired girl. I immediately locked my eyes on hers. Wow. Too bad she was so tall....and in high school. We voted for them to win the spirit awards.
I don't know what the heck happened but as we were getting to leave, we find that Illenny's bike had a flat tire and missing brake pads. It took us (mainly Carlos) about 30 mins to fix that. On our way back out...Eva's handle bar post came loose. She couldn't direction her bike. Hahaha...it was so funny. Carlos was irritated with the girls at this point. But it was a quick fix. And then finally...we were back on the road.
On our way to the finish line, Eva and I got lost. We missed a turn. Good thing we hadn't rode so far. We went back for about half a mile.
But what a morning. We (mostly just me) got down and dirty...literally. It rained earlier in the morning so the roads were wet enough to kick up mud all morning long. It was a very bad day to wear white...hahaha. I was covered with mud from head to toe....and my bike as well.
